3 Ways to Hit Restart on Your Game of Life

Don’t you wish sometimes your life had a reload option, like in video games? This could be handy, especially when sh*t hits the fan in your life. Imagine, you’re getting ready for a big event, and you know you’ve only got minutes to spare while driving to the venue. Should you turn on the first right or should you wait and get the next crossing? You decide to take the first right, and rapidly find yourself stuck in a massive traffic jam. You’ll never make it on time. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could reload this specific scene of your life and decide to turn at the next junction instead? Unfortunately, you can't save and reload chapters of your life. But you can restart it for the better! You can choose your own adventure. Here’s how it works:

Same you, new screen

Everyone faces difficult situations in life, and it’s fair to say that more often than not, running away seems the most appealing solution. In a way, you can escape your problems and negative experience in one place by deciding to start anew somewhere else. For a lot of people, the idea to move home tends to coincide with moving career, or simply leaving a toxic relationship behind. It is a bold move, and you need to be sure that you pick a location in which you can picture your future life. Don’t just move away, but move towards something better. There’s no point getting a fresh start if it has no potential to be preferable.

Same screen, new you

A new start is about bringing changes into your life. If you choose to stick to your known scene and environment, maybe you can change the character? Admittedly, you may not be able to find someone else to play your role, but you can certainly bring about some improvements. Do you know what most people do when they are ready to revamp their lives after a breakup? Yep, they decide to transform the image they see in the mirror - sometimes anything from a simple new hairstyle, a wardrobe transformation, a fresh start tattoo, to an extreme makeover of sorts complete with liposculpture, fillers, and new teeth! Go you - do you! But at the end of the day, make the changes to your external self that helps to boost your confidence when you struggle to find your balance in life (and not just to impress or revenge an ex).

Same screen, same you, new strategy

Some days,  you only need to restart the game because you know exactly how to win, you know how to finish the boss on the last level. And you know it because you’ve just lost the game. That’s the benefits of making mistakes; you can learn from them. In real life, you may not be able to go through the same events to do them right, but you can decide to take advantage of your experience to ensure  you avoid the same errors in the future. Whether it’s about relationships, career or simply a poor hairstyle choice, understanding what went wrong is the key to move on. Can you do better next time? Of course, you can.

While there is no way to reload the game in real life, it doesn’t mean that mistakes are there to stay.
You can learn from them, change your environment or simply choose to boost your self-esteem.
Mistakes don’t define you. It’s how you react to them that does!

Become your best self - from the inside out. And go live that best life - wherever and however that may be.
GAME ON.
